From this day onward, this blog takes a new turn. I needed to buy a mobile phone and so I was busy finding different models, specifications, features & comparing prices. I was thinking, why not put them into a blog format, so if anyone of you are also looking to buy a new mobile phone, you can find and compare models along with me. Hence, my blog’s change in subject.
Nowadays, mobile phones are classified broadly into these few categories:
Basic or essential phones
It only makes and receives phone calls; it has address book, in/out call records, SMS etc.
Multimedia phones
In addition to basic phone features, it has support for music & videos. Multimedia features are enriched, enhanced memory via external card.
Smartphones
Something over multimedia phones, it has enhanced support for Internet browsing, organizer, application support and there are variations in operating systems.
Touch screen phones
Smartphones, but operated with the touch of fingers. Some are partial touch phones, some are full touch phones; reduces the use of keypad strokes, mostly used via touching, pinching and flicking on the sensitive screen.
Dual-SIM phones
For the people who use more than one SIM cards. These can be simple dual-SIM phones, like the basic phones with two SIM card slots. Or, these can also be combinations of Smartphones or Touchscreen phones with two SIM slots. These phones also have variations like dual-SIM active, dual-SIM standby, dual-SIM shift etc.
Tablet smartphones
These are something more interesting made with a combination of smartphones and touchscreen but has larger screen display size than other category of phones. These come with lots of features. Looks like miniature tablet pc class with a phone support.
